Bhajan Mela – 2017, A Celebration with the Lord
Bhajan Mela, the annual devotional soiree, organised by Lakshmi GIRI Charitable Trust and Olive Hill, was a three-day event, (17th to 19th July 2017) at Narada Gana Sabha Hall, Chennai.
The Guests of Honour were :
17th – Sri K.T. Raghavan – State Secretary, Tamil Nadu BJP
18th – Sri. H. Raja – National Secretary, BJP
19th – Smt. Vanathi Srinivasan – State Gen. Secretary, Tamil Nadu BJP
The event, which also witnessed a galaxy of stars from different sectors, was a celebration of the evocative poetry of the Hindu saints and was organized towards the effort to preserve the Bhajana Sampradaya, the traditional devotional music of India.
The first day witnessed Jnaneswari Pravachan by Sri Raghunath Das Maharaj followed by Sri. Ganapathi Tukaram Maharaj’s narration of the greatness of Sant Jnanadev, interspersed with Abhangs in the Varkhari Sampradaya style. The second evening was charged with the devotional fervor by the awe-inspiring rendering of Dakshina Bharata Sampradaya Bhajans by Shri. Vittaldas Maharaj and his troupe. Kadayanallur Shri. Rajagopala Bhagavadar enthralled one and all on the third evening with an enjoyable bouquet of Abhangs and Kirtanas.
The audience was at their feet to celebrate their oneness with the Lord when the performance reached its crescendo every day.
The programme was powered by Serene, VBJ and RMKV and co-presented by Gopuram. Astroved was the Associate Sponsor and Prasadams were distributed by Surya Sweets and Shubham Ganesan.
A Tulsi plant sponsored by Serene was also given as a Divine memento to all the devotees.
